In addition to her studies, Dr Hassim worked as a consultant at the Charlotte Maxeke Academic Hospital for the University of Witwatersrand and trained medical students, interns and registrars in this field. She also travelled internationally to enhance her skill in keyhole surgery.
Since then, Dr Hassim has gone from strength to strength, excelling academically to become a renowned gynaecologist with a flourishing private practice. She currently practices at the Netcare Sunninghill Hospital and serves on the hospital physicians' advisory board. During the COVID-19 pandemic, her fearless nature allowed her to be a frontliner and care for patients.
Firmly perched on the pinnacles of success, Dr Hassim is now giving back to society and trying to make a difference. She has been the figurehead of several global charitable campaigns, such as the World Memon Organisation, and has travelled to the Myanmar border to serve the Rohingya community.
